The First resource that I have chosen is http://www.allaboutlifechallenges.org/family-problems-faq.htm This is a website asks you that if you have a family problem ,is there a recovery to your family problem????This website relates to the book because in The Color Purple they have family problems. One example of a family problem would be when Harpo begins to express emotions for a that he met at church and asks Celie for advice.Celie tell him that her and his father don't love each other but are married for different reasons . The Father doesn't like the girl that Harpo intends to marry. Another example of a Family problem in The Color Purple is when Harpo and Sofia are married they would spend their time violently battling with one another. When Harpo starts to feel unmanly for not beating his wife, he decides to get advice from Celie and Mr.______ and their advice for Harpo was to start beating her, Harpo and Sofia would physically fight every day. I think that if Celie read the website it would help her find steps to recover each of their family problems.
The second resource that I have chosen is http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/statements/main_stat12.html.This website that I have chosen is because this website talks about what a family violence is , example of a family violence , what you can do to strengthen your Family when it come to violence. One example of family violence in The Color Purple is when Mr______ wife was violently killed by her boyfriend in front of their kids. Another example in the book of family violence would be when Celie got married into Mr____ family , the kids beat her and taunt at her , one of kids even threw a rock on her head which made her bleed. If Celie had this resource she could have helped the family when it came to violence and helped stop it .

The reason why i chose this website is beacause this website talk about waht you can do if your being raped and also tells you the defination of rape.One example of rape is when Celie is being raped with a guy who she thinks is her father when her mother at docters office . That was Celies first experince of rape. Another example in the book would be when Hodges sees squeak and rapes her . I think that if Celie had this reasource then she would have not let her "father" rape her , Celie would have tried to put a stop to rape if she known haow to.
The last reasouce that I have chosen is http://www.doesgodexist.org/. The reason why I have chosen this website is because this website talk s about God , what God is and if God exists. In the Clolor Purplr Celie writes leeters to God telling him everything that happens in her life . One Example of Religion/ God is when Celie ends up having trouble sleeping she asks God why she has trouble sleeping and asks if it's beacuse she did a sinful thing to someone. Celie reliazes that she did a sinful thing towards Sofia by telling Harpo to bet her. Another example in the book would be when Celie finds happiness in her life when her family returns to her, she thanks God by her heart and soul by her thoughts.

The Colour Purple-Reading Response #1
Theme
The theme of this book is how a girl was bought up with some education , from her sister after her marriage , she got pregnant 2 times when she was young because of her dad and got taken out from school because of that . Her dad married her off to Mr.____ because Mr____ needed a house wife and someone to look after the kids for him. Celies ends up being a girl who learns to have self- confident.
Celie
The main Character Celie is developed as a girl who has had some difficulty and rough times through out her life, Celies a bright girl that's not educated, she wanted to study in school but she ended up being big because of that Celie had to leave school.Ceilies a mother of 2 children who were taken away from her one way or another. She is a girl who was married at a young age, to a man named Mr Albert _____. After Marriage Celie became a woman with her own unique feelings towards others.
Nettie
Nettie is Celies younger sister. Nettie character is developed in the book the day she saw the light of day , how harsh and mean he was . Nettie run away form home so she could find help for the other girls . Netties boyfriend was Celies husband. Before Celies and Mr____ marriage, Nettie was dating Mr_____ and He asked for her hand but her dad didn't allow it because she was young and had no experience,her dad also wanted her to finish studying. So instead Celie and Mr.____ got married.
Mr ____
A widowed man who first name is Albert and has children and needed a house wife and someone to take care of the kids.Married to Celie and Netties ex boyfriend.Mr.____ wouldn't do anything other then sitting out on the porch and sipping a pipe . Mr_____ had an affair with his wife before with a girl named Shug Avery, he had 3 kids with her.His wife was murdered by someone.
Mood / Atmosphere
The mood of the book is abuse . The atmosphere of the book is full of sadness.
Setting
The setting of the book takes place at Celies house .The setting has an impact on the story because after she was married she spent her life in that house working and taking care of the kids.
